Employer gets recruitment approval
The Qatari employer applies to the Ministry of Labour for approval to recruit, then obtains the work visa from the Ministry of Interior.

The employer or licensed recruiter gives you your visa number. You can check its status on the Ministry of Interior's online services.

Visit a Qatar Visa Centre
Book an appointment at the QVC in Islamabad or Karachi for your medical, fingerprints and signing of your employment contract.

Register with the Protector of Emigrants
Register with your visa, contract, police certificate and fee receipts, and attend the pre-departure briefing.

Travel to Qatar
Fly once your visa is released and your Protector registration is complete.

Get your residence permit
Your employer converts your entry visa into a work residence permit after the steps required in Qatar. You should not leave Qatar while this is in progress.

- Qatar's Ministry of Interior says recruitment fees are paid by the employer. Be wary of anyone asking you for large sums, and deal only with BEOE-licensed promoters who give receipts.
- Do not travel on a visit visa hoping to switch to work; it cannot be converted in Qatar.
- Keep copies of your contract, visa and passport, and check the details on your residence permit once it is issued.
