Documents to prepare
From your host in Saudi Arabia
- The approved request with its request number, printed from the MOFA platform
- Copy of the host's iqama or Saudi national ID
- For resident hosts, the employer's or Chamber of Commerce's electronic authentication of the request
From you
- Passport with at least six months' validity, plus old passports
- Recent photos in the format the visa centre asks for
- Copy of your CNIC
- Proof of relationship, such as a NADRA Family Registration Certificate
- Marriage certificate for spouses, translated and attested if asked
- NADRA Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) for children
- Polio vaccination certificate, if it is on the current checklist
Step by step
- 1
Host checks eligibility
A resident host needs a valid work iqama, not a dependant iqama. Saudi citizens use the citizen services on the same platform.
- 2
Host submits the request
The host signs in to the MOFA visa platform and fills in the family visit request. Names must match your passport exactly.
- 3
Request is authenticated
For resident hosts, the employer or Chamber of Commerce authenticates the request electronically.
- 4
Host sends you the details
Once approved, the host shares the request number and printout with you.
- 5
Apply in Pakistan
Complete the visa through the channel the Saudi embassy or consulates in Pakistan currently use, such as an authorised visa centre or accredited agency. Your fingerprints may be taken.
- 6
Check the visa
Check your name, passport number and visa period against your passport before you travel.
- 7
Stay within the period
The host can request an extension through the e-service before the visa expires, if eligible.
Costs to plan for
- Visa and request fees. Check current amounts on the MOFA visa platform.
- Mandatory medical insurance, added during the visa process.
- Service charges from the visa centre or accredited agency in Pakistan.
- Attestation and translation of relationship documents, if asked.
- Overstay penalties, which can affect both you and your host.
Why applications get refused
- The resident host holds a dependant iqama or an expired iqama.
- The visitor is not a relative the service covers for that host.
- Names or passport numbers on the request do not match the passport.
- The request was not authenticated by the employer or Chamber of Commerce.
- A previous overstay or violation in Saudi Arabia.
- Missing or unclear relationship documents.
Tips before you apply
- Send your host a clear scan of your passport so names and numbers are entered exactly.
- Keep both the request number and the visa number. You may need them at the visa centre and on arrival.
- Ask your host to diarise the visa end date and request any extension in good time.
- If you hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa, or live in a GCC country, check the KSA Visa platform for other visit options that may apply to you.
